For my large image on the contents page I wanted a long shot which included the whole body as well as the drum kit. I have noticed from my reserach that a lot of the contents page contain long shots so this would be very appropriate for my own.
The problem with these four shots however was the lighting and the blurryness which seems to come up often as an error of the photoshoots. However with careful editing from Fireworks I was able to tranform the following picture from looking too 'amatuer' like just by doing tiny little tweaks.
I knew my magazine had to contain at least three images due to the questionnaire results. But I decided to form three different photos into one long strip as an action shot. This is to display the drumming action. I did this by using a special feature on my camera to get the shot frame by frame. I used the following three photos to fuse together
I overlapped them to create the following which I thought would be a great effect and original asset to my contents page.
However I thought the sharp edges looked too boring and wanted to add some sort of effect to it. I inspired my idea upon a double page spread article that I analysed where the photos had 'ripped' edges which looked quite effective. I found a tool on Fireworks that might help me do this.
As you can see this looks, awful! Not professional looking enough for my contents page. So I then tried to find a picture from the internet to create that special torn look.
I still thought that this wasn't something that would look right on my contents page. So I decided to use a fading effect which would overlap onto the larger picture already on there which I thought would work well
Because the previous image is technically only one image I knew anbother would have to be used to fill out the contents just like the contents I have seen in NME and QW magazine. However if I put another image of my model again it would look too samey so I needed to use some variation. From this I was inspired to use one of my pleniminary task images.
I think it is a flaw that my editing skills were not the best on here, but with the image only going to be small on the page I don't think it will be that noticable to the audience.
